Automatic attendant with the Call Flow Editor

If you know your party's extension...

The other day somebody was asking how to create an IVR like the following:

“Thank you for calling, if you know your party’s extension you may dial it now, for sales press “2″, for technical support press “3″, for billing…”

The call flow editor allows you to create menus like this with a small difference. In case you know your party’s extension, you need to include one additional step. This would sound like this:

“Thank you for calling, if you know your party’s extension press “1″ , for sales press “2″, for technical support press “3″, for billing… “ If you press one, you hear “Please now enter your party’s extension” and then get connected to it.

The following call flow illustrates this example:

I decided to use the extension and the text-to-speech modules to keep the call flow simple. Instead queue modules and playback modules could be used.
